The South Carolina World Trade Center unique opportunities for Charlestonians to experience new cultures and make new friends from across the ocean without missing work or boarding a plane. You can do this by hosting a foreign leader for a meal in your home or at your favorite restaurant. These leaders are participating in the International Visitor Leader Program under the auspices of the US Dept. of State in order to obtain more information on various topics such as: national security, economic development, law, diversity and the arts. These visitors are tired of stuffy business dinners and want to experience southern hospitality at its finest…around your kitchen table or out on the town with a local.
The International Visitor Leadership Program, which operates under the auspices of the U.S Department of State, brings over 4000 foreign nationals per year to interact with their rofessional counterparts in order to gain a more comprehensive view of various sectors. The participants are selected by American Foreign Service Officers stationed at various U.S. embassies located throughout the world. The candidates are current leaders or individuals that display strong potential to enact change in diverse categories such as economic development, education, cultural heritage preservation, government, and the arts. The South Carolina World Trade Center offers the opportunity to interact with our visitors via dinner hosting or professional meeting appointments.
